No More, Strike Your Out
I want to describe one of my favorite plays in baseball. Maybe you’ve seen it. Here’s the scenario: the batter has two strikes. One more and he’s out, right? But—if the catcher drops the ball on the third strike, the batter gets a chance to run to first base as if he’d hit the ball. That’s when it gets exciting!
Coaches, teammates, and fans start shouting, “RUN!” And with lightning speed, the batter takes off, hoping to make it to first before the throw gets him out.
Why do I love this play? Because it’s a second-chance play. It happens in one of those “I’ve totally blown it” moments and suddenly, there’s hope again.
Ever been there? Done something and thought, That’s it. I’m out. Head down, dragging your feet, kicking up the dust of regret? We all have. But here’s the thing: God’s grace isn’t just about second chances. It’s not about someone dropping the ball. It’s way better than that.
God had a plan—before your mistake, during your mistake, and after it. Jesus died for all our messes, so we never have to wonder if we’ll get another shot. You’re already covered.
Have a great week.Hugs, 2 mama (hug pic: two of our little ball players)
