Life has a rhythm
Monday Hug: “Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get.” Forrest Gump’s famous words have never felt more true than over the past three weeks. In that short span, we attended four funerals and five weddings—grief and joy, grief and joy, over and over again.
Each day felt like unwrapping a gold-foiled chocolate—sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter.
Life has a rhythm, though. Ecclesiastes 1:5 says, “The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.” That beautiful repetition—the tide coming in, the birds singing, the flowers blooming—brings peace. Creation, without free will, simply obeys.
But humans? We get to choose. And with that choice comes chaos, heartache, and uncertainty. That’s when we sometimes unwrap the chocolate we didn’t want.
But God. He is steady. He is faithful. He is not surprised by what your day holds. When everything else changes, He doesn’t.
So if life feels like too many ups and downs lately, don’t be afraid to face tomorrow. Just remember who holds it. Have a great week!
