A New Creation

A New Creation

A few years ago, my granddaughter Ally tried on and took pictures in a bridesmaid’s dress I had worn nearly forty years ago. It was from my sister-in-law’s wedding, and at the time, we thought those dresses were just beautiful. But as time passed—and fashion changed, as it always does—they seemed less attractive.
When my sister-in-law saw Ally in the dress, she laughed and said that for years she had looked back at her wedding photos and cringed at the bridesmaid dresses. But seeing Ally wear one helped her see them in a new light—and realize they were actually beautiful.
Oh my! What a life lesson.
What we see as old, outdated, or tired, God sees as new, beautiful, and full of purpose. His eyes always see more clearly—both in others and in us.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
—2 Corinthians 5:17
