Gentle yet Firm
At one point, thinking it would help us at all the wedding receptions we attended, 2 Papa and I took ballroom dance lessons.
We had watched plenty of Dancing with the Stars, but had zero ballroom experience. Trust me, our instructor had advice for me too—but he kept telling 2 Papa to lead gently.
Then he showed us how just a simple touch can tell your partner where to go, what to do.
It was fascinating—and it got me thinking.
Gentle, but firm, leadership works in parenting. But what about leading others to Jesus?
Can a gentle touch be effective?
Sometimes, in our excitement, we want to tug and pull and shout and jump up and down.
I get it—after all, it is the Good News!
But God’s Word, His miracles, His love, and His peace are enough.
If you’re walking in those things, that’s the best way to “speak” Jesus to your friends and loved ones.
Psalm 18:35 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.
Have the best week!
