Beauty Around
These azaleas are beautiful, aren’t they? But what they represent is even more beautiful. You see, Johnny’s daddy planted these and hundreds more nearly 50 years ago for us to enjoy. He had a heart for doing things that inspired others. He left us many things. When I see these flowers I’m also reminded of the other things Papaw left for us. In Sunday morning worship yesterday I love that my grandchildren saw their two grandfathers and four of their uncles in leadership roles. Those men are doing exactly what Papaw Howard, and my dad, Papaw Shack, did. They are planting more azaleas. They are doing the things today that will inspire others for many years to come. Think about it. What are you planting today that your children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy or, maybe, cling to, or discover years later? Plant today for the harvest tomorrow.
