God’s Clothes

God’s Clothes

Why would someone wear suspenders but not really wear them? That’s the question I asked myself as a young man walked past me with his suspenders dangling down. It got me thinking. In the book of Job it says “clothe yourself in honor and majesty.” I Peter says “be clothed in humility.” Proverbs 31 says “clothed with strength and dignity.” That’s just a few of the verses giving us clothing advice from God. God is so smart. He knows we understand clothes. We understand what it means to put one arm in, then the other and wrap totally up in something. He knows we understand that clothing protects us from the world as well as presents us to the world. Let’s don’t let our God-clothes dangle like a half-worn pair of suspenders. Let’s pull them all the way up so the world can see what we’re wearing. Have a great week. Hugs, 2-mama.
