He Fights For You

He Fights For You

Over the weekend I was part of the kitchen crew at Camp Ch-Yo-Ca as we hosted a high school retreat. After a cheesy-chicken Mexican dinner, we began the cleaning process. The combination of cheese and chips stuck to the pan like superglue. We scrubbed and scrubbed, but no progress was made. As I said these words, “Let’s put some Dawn in the pan and let it sit overnight. Tomorrow it will be easy,” the Lord spoke to me. ⁣

My mind went to Exodus 14:14 which simply says, “The Lord himself will fight for you. So stay calm.” I don’t know what you’ve been through or are going through, but chances are it’s something and those “somethings” can stick to us like crusty cheese on a pan. We can use our own power to scrub and scrape it away, but God simply says, “I’ve got it. Go to bed and rest.” What a precious thought. God will take your worry, hurt, shame, regret, trouble, heartbreak—your “something”—and fight for you if you let Him. I hope you do. Have a great week.
