Learning and Growing
We went snow skiing for the first time when I was 25 years old. Being from Louisiana, the six brave souls that we were, were pretty good water skiers, so this snow skiing thing couldn’t be so hard. How wrong could a group of fairly intelligent people be?? On day one, my sister and I sat down at the top of the mountain in tears as our husbands coaxed us down. The next morning, we went to ski school. Nearly forty years later, we’re still skiing. I’m so thankful we didn’t give up. While we’re not perfect skiers, with each ski trip, we become more comfortable with the mountain. Its snowy banks, trees, and moguls have become our friends instead of our enemies. We’re now free to fly down the mountain, enjoying its beauty. God longs for us to experience this kind of freedom in Him. Sometimes we hold ourselves back from enjoying all He has in store for us. We tell ourselves we can’t do it or He really didn’t mean that for us. But you can and He does. God wants YOU to learn all you can about Him and, in doing so, you will experience a freedom you never knew you could have. Have a great week!
