He Did It

He Did It

Recently at one of the basketball games, I sat in awe and with gratitude as I watched one older gentleman referee the game. One. Can you imagine? Just one man, ten 7-9 year olds and a ball that changed directions every few seconds. He blew his whistle, stopped the game, started it again, chased the ball, patted one little guy on the head, spoke calmly, but sternly, to another. It was beautiful to watch, but it was also exhausting. Too much for one person.

But he did it.

Like that kind, older referee, God watched over everything. Omnipresent. Omniscient. Omnipotent. Big words for a big God. Seeing, knowing, and doing all at the same time. It’s nearly too much for us to comprehend. It’s hard to comprehend one referee calling a little kid’s basketball game, much less the referee of the entire world!!!

Starting, stopping, patting, calming, teaching, loving…All of us! All at the same time. Yes, God does that.

And for those of us on the sidelines…we can stop trying to make the calls. It’s best to just sit back and let God do what He does best.

Hugs, 2 mama
