Turn to Jesus
In April of 2023 I bought the cutest pair of summer sandals. I tried them on in the store and visualized wearing them. But, the first week of June, my dream of wearing those sandals was crushed . I was diagnosed with two injuries-one in both feet. Consequently, for two months last summer, I didn’t wear cute shoes. I wore a boot and a brace. And for three months after, I wore “safe” shoes.
Visualizing how we want our lives to be is not a bad thing. I truly believe God is a God of organization and plans. Setting goals, dreaming dreams, and visualizing outcomes helps us stay focused and organized. Goals help us accomplish God’s work, as well as get the simple, mundane tasks we must do each day done efficiently.
All of us will experience disappointment. Satan loves to take that seed of disappointment and plant it deeper in your mind, but don’t let him. While Satan is a discourager, Jesus is an encourager. Turning to Jesus for encouragement and power and joy in spite of disappointment will change your life. Even without that cute pair of sandals, I had a beautiful summer of 2023. And I have a perfect pair of unused sandals waiting for summer 2024!
